OnBuy, a shopping marketplace, has discovered the names most associated with kinky purchases by studying their internal data and surveying 3,000 of their customers
We all know our names say a lot about us, and there have been countless studies about which monikers are most likely to become rich, successful or intelligent.
But a new piece of research claims to have found the name of the kinkiest people based on their name alone.
After noticing a spike in sales in their sex and adult category since the start of the coronavirus lockdown , shopping marketplace OnBuy.com did some research to see if there was any correlation between a person’s name and their sex life.
It did so by studying internal data from the last three years, compiling a list of names based on the individuals shopping habits and surveying 3,000 of their customers – and the results are in.
According to OnBuy those named Charlie and Jessica are classed as the kinkiest individuals based on their spending habits.
Names of other kinky individuals are:
As of May 2020, sales of adult toys more than doubled at 115 per cent compared to statistics from the previous year.
It also found that from March 2020 to May 2020 there was an increase of 79 per cent which ties in perfectly with the coronavirus lockdown period.
When OnBuy asked customers about their spending habit during this time, a quarter of adults, 23 per cent, admitted to purchasing ‘adult friendly products’ since the beginning of lockdown.
Shoppers were then asked whether these purchases were common shopping habits, with which over three quarters, 79 per cent, confirmed it wasn’t, and an additional two fifths, 42 per cent, admitted the purchases were down to ‘boredom.’
Other popular answers OnBuy were given include ‘living alone in lockdown’ and ‘more disposable cash’.
Cas Paton, founder and CEO of OnBuy.com said: “Throughout our site and across each sector of products we see a host of shopping habits, whether that’s by type of product, name, age or location.
“When looking at our sales data it was clear to us that more people are buying adult friendly products during lockdown than ever before, a very interesting insight.
“Therefore, we thought it would be intriguing to see which names are synonymous with adult product purchases onsite, and remarkably we discovered a clear correlation!”
